International Day of Persons with Disabilities

This day was established by the UN General Assembly in 2006. It aims to raise awareness about persons with disabilities around the globe. It also encourages governments to make changes to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.

On this day, we honor those who have made significant contributions to society through their work and advocacy. We also recognize the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and encourage them to participate fully in society.

In order to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the United Nations General Assembly declared December 3 as the International Day of Persons Who Have Made Outstanding Contribution To Society. This year, the theme of the celebration is “Inclusion and Empowerment of People with Disabilities.”
